The Question:
How do you make a pottery exposition feel cohesive, friendly and engaging so you can attract sponsors and get community buy-in?

The Answer:
Add the right branding! The Pottery Expo already has many things going for it: local artists, expert speakers, and, of course, delicious food! What was needed was a way to bring that all together so that guests would feel welcomed and sponsors would see a well organized, appealing event. I designed a logo, tagline, map, badges, flyers, poster, merchandise and created a handmade booklet that contains it all so that the event could easily be pitched to the community and possible sponsors.

The Process
1. The Logo
I began with the logo which went through many different iterations. The first round of designs were too harsh so it was a process of softening and adding detail that lead to the final design:

2. Assets
I created many assets including illustration of pottery tools, ceramics, and a secondary logo. These were used as patterns and icons on the event map and various merchandise.

3. Flyers and Posters
I created two flyers and one poster with an eye-catching design to promote this event. The flyers are designed to be distributed to potential attendees, while the poster is perfect for displaying in high-traffic areas.
4. Map + Badges
I created a full map of all key event locations, as well as a zoomed-in map of the main event hub space. In addition, I have created custom badges for speakers, staff and vendors, designed using icons I have created for this event. These unique badges will ensure everyone is easily identifiable.

5. Merch
This Pottery Expo merch collection includes t-shirts for men and women, a tote bag, an apron and phone cases, all designed with graphics created exclusively for this event. The artwork is vibrant and eye-catching, sure to make a statement wherever you go.

The Final Booklet
This is a quick video showing the final booklet that I made that includes all of the parts discussed above. Below the video is a gallery of all of the spreads in the book so you can see them more clearly.
